Beach Revue 2020 Cancelled
Refund Policy and Donation Request
Statement of April 8, 2020:
On March 11, we paused preparations for Beach Revue. We had hoped there would be a way to present the show in one form or another before the end of the school year, but it is now clear that is no longer possible. As students will not be returning to classes this academic year, Beach Revue 2020 is officially cancelled. The Revue is a major event in our school community’s life, and its loss is a disappointment to all of us, especially our 5th grade performers and parents.
Beach Revue typically raises about $16,000 for the Beach Parents’ Organization. The registration and costume fees cover our expenses while ticket and merchandise sales provide income that the BPO uses to support the school’s educational mission. Because we had already incurred most of our expenses, including the purchase of costumes, before we stopped preparations and because we were unable to open general ticket sales, the Revue has just $4,300 on hand at this time.
Out of these funds, the BPO has authorized us to offer a refund, upon request, of the $36 that each family paid for two guaranteed tickets. If you would like $36 refunded to you, please complete the form at the link below no later than noon on April 12th. Refunds will be processed during the week of April 13.
If you ordered a t-shirt or sweatshirt during registration, we have those for you and will figure out a way to distribute them when contact restrictions are eased. We cannot take any new orders for shirts. Directors have tried to return as many costume items as possible but may have some pieces that were not returnable to give to performers.
We would also like to ask you to consider making a donation to the BPO to help make up for the shortfall this year. Perhaps consider what you would likely have spent on Beach Revue and donate an equivalent amount.
Raffle Tickets $ 5
Please thank all the volunteers who put so much creativity and time into preparing our show. It would have been a great one. We hope your children enjoyed the experience even though it was cut short. Take care of yourselves and each other, and we hope Beach Revue will be back next year for another season of fun and a fantastic show.
